How long does it take to recover from a polyp removal?
Most women feel better within the first week following surgery; however, do not lift, push or pull any heavy objects for a couple of weeks. Do not resume sexual intercourse or douche until your doctor says it is OK. Full recovery takes about two weeks to allow for internal healing.
Is it painful to have polyps removed?

Depending on the location of the polyp and other factors, a doctor may give the patient pain medication before, during, or after the procedure. Do I need time off work after polyp removal?
Most women feel they can return to normal activities, including work, the day after having a hysteroscopy. Some women return to work later the same day. However, you may wish to have a few days off to rest, particularly if you had treatment such as fibroids removal and/or a general anaesthetic was used.
How long will I bleed after polyp removal?
You may have light bleeding immediately after a uterine polyp removal. You may also have discharge for up to 14 days after the treatment. The fluid may be light pink to brown in color. Your menstruation cycle will return as normal after a polypectomy.
Do polyps grow back?
Once a colorectal polyp is completely removed, it rarely comes back. However, at least 30% of patients will develop new polyps after removal. For this reason, your physician will advise follow-up testing to look for new polyps. This is usually done 3 to 5 years after polyp removal.
